Payments are processed via PayPal’s secure site – please note that you do not have to have a PayPal account to use your credit or debit card. All major credit and debit cards (including Visa, Mastercard, Solo, American Express, Maestro and Switch) are accepted. If you do have a PayPal account, of course you can use that if you prefer.
Yes, I’m happy to accept payment by personal cheque (British bank accounts only) or by Postal Order. Details of where to send your payment will be given at checkout. Please make personal cheques payable to Precious Things, and write your name, address and cheque guarantee card number on the back of your cheque. Postal Orders should also be made out to Precious Things and be crossed. Once your payment has cleared (which can take at least 6 working days), I will dispatch your order. Any orders not paid for within 7 days will be cancelled and the jewellery re-listed for other customers.
If you place an order online in error, you can e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org, remembering to include the order no, your name, address and the Item no. If your order has not yet been dispatched, it will be cancelled and a full refund will be made. If the order has been dispatched (or you have already received your order), please refer to the returns section below.
Delivery charges to the UK and Northern Ireland starts at $5.00 for orders up to 250g. This includes handling and packaging.
Delivery charges to Eire, and Europe start at $5.00 for orders weighing up to 140g, increasing by $1.00 every 80g. Delivery charges to mainland USA, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand start at $5.00 for orders weighing up to 140g, increasing by $1.00 every 40g. This includes handling and packaging. Charges do not include any possible local import duty and/or taxes.
All orders are shipped once a week (on Thursdays). Orders from the UK and Northern Ireland are sent by Royal Mail 1st Class Post and should reach you the next working day after the parcel is despatched. Orders from Europe and Rest of World are sent by Royal Mail Airmail for delivery between 3-5 working days after despatch.
Yes, if you prefer, your order can be delivered to your work address or a neighbour.

If this does happen, you may have to pay local import duties outside the EU.
There is a 100% guarantee on everything you purchase from me. If you don’t love your Precious Things jewellery simply contact me within 15 days to arrange for its safe return and a refund. Sorry, but for hygiene reasons earrings for pierced ears are not returnable. Under the UK Distance Selling Regulations, you have the right to cancel an order within 7 working days of your receipt of that order. My guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights.
Just contact me within 15 days for a Returns Number (R#) and return mailing address. Your e-mail should include your full name, address, your order number (found on the packing slip or email), and a contact telephone number. (While you don’t have to give a reason for returning the item, it might be helpful so I can make any improvements). Return the piece in an unused condition and with its inner packaging, along with a copy of your packing slip. Please insure your jewellery by obtaining proof of posting (free) from the Post Office, as I will be unable to give a refund if the item is lost during its return.
The only time shipping costs are refunded is if the wrong goods were sent to you by mistake. I’m afraid that there are no refunds for shipping if goods are being returned because they are unwanted.
There is a 12-month warranty from date of purchase for all jewellery or accessories bought from me. Should your item become damaged, or it needs a bit of TLC, I will repair it free of charge, (please note – I only keep a small stock of each component so it may be necessary to make a substitution). You only have to pay for the shipping costs. Contact me for a Repairs Number (RP#) and return mailing address. Please insure your jewellery by obtaining proof of posting.
Repairs requested after 12 months will be charged a small fee to cover the cost of the materials, time spent on the repair and the return shipping.
No. In order to protect the privacy of Precious Things customers, all names, contact details and buying preferences are kept in my off-site customer file. Your details are never passed on to a third party.
The aim is to present all Precious Things items attractively, so that they are ready to be given as gifts. Each item is individually wrapped in black tissue paper, and sent to you either in a black velveteen or olive-green organza drawstring bag; or a black pillow box tied with a lime-green ribbon.
